Fairchild’s Meadow Interpretation boards and circular markers

The Problem

Haddenham Conservation Society wanted discrete, attractive interpretation boards and way-markers that were vandal-proof and therefore non-combustible, as well as being long-lasting against the effects of sunshine and weather.

Understanding the Requirements

The Filcris range of recycled plastic materials were chosen because they are a locally-based producer, thus minimising unnecessary transport impact on the environment. And the performance of the recycled plastics used met all the Society requirements.

The Solution

By becoming ""part of the project"", Filcris produced the boards and 3-inch circular markers from recycled plastic, with a natural feel and look to replicate, as closely as possible, a wooden finish.

Filcris were especially sensitive to the aesthetic and environmental requirements, and provided ongoing phone and email support leading to many useful suggestions for improvements.

The Results

The boards are especially suitable, as rainwater just runs off them, and the surfaces can easily be cleaned with a damp cloth. The artwork is excellent, and has shown no sign of being affected by the sun. For a small local project that was funded by local subscription and grant funding, Filcris provided great value, and an overall professional and cost-effective job.

The service we received was nothing short of excellent. Staff at Filcris were friendly and understanding. They seemed to become part of our project and cared that the final product would be just what we needed. The 3 inch circular way-markers are great – we have stuck them onto trees, walls, and posts around the village. They are just what we wanted – something discrete, but attractive that pulls the whole project together. Thanks again for all your help.
