Designed originally as a roofing batten, this product has a slightly softer mix of plastics which makes it more flexible (nearly as flexible as our Flexible Edging Plank) and able to be nailed with a nailgun. This makes it especially suitable for use as a mini edging plank or for use installing artificial grass. Also suitable for many other landscaping and construction applications such as battening, fabrication, etc.
Please be aware that recycled plastic profiles will expand and contract with changes in temperature. This needs to be considered when fixing within a frame or between channels. Recycled plastic boards are more flexible than timber and will require more frequent supports than an equivalent sized timber profile. For technical guidance do not hesitate to contact the sales office.
Bench Slats:
Please note that we have had a lot of enquiries for using this product as a replacement for rotten bench slats with cast iron type bench ends, because it is the same size as the existing slats. This WILL NOT WORK. This product is far too flexible and is completely unsuitable for this application. There are steel reinforced bench slats available which are much thicker which may work, please contact the office for further details.
