Description and use:
Modification of our standard Tern Raft. 1.2m x 2.4m x 200mm polystyrene floatation layer encapsulated in tough 6mm thick recycled plastic sheet with a 100 mm tall sided graved tray on the top. The unit is riveted together and fixed onto a 2.4m x 1.2m stretcher made from hollow plastic posts and solid, heavy duty planks, which allows the whole raft to be easily manouevred and means multiple units can be fixed together as well as providing excellent fixing locations for anchoring the rafts.
To prevent attacks by mink, 2' tall sides made of 4mm thick clear polycarbonate have been added. These allow the chicks to still be seen.
Used successfully by the Royal Parks Agency at Richmond Park.
