Description and use:
AS FEATURED ON BBC SPRINGWATCH & COUNTRYFILE! Recycled plastic otter holt kit designed in conjunction with Surrey Wildlife Trust.
The holt has both a front and rear entrance hole and an internal chamber 600mm x 600mm. While this may appear small, research has confirmed that female otters prefer a confined space in which to rear their young.
The top is crenelated to improve ventilation, so the holt can be partially buried and the top covered in turves or brash. Alternatively the holt can be completely buried, but ensure that a Ventilation Tube is added to your order. A partially or completely buried holt, or one which is to be sited away from the river bank will also benefit from some 260mm Tubing. We can also supply a pre cut tube fitting kit, but can supply offcuts for you to do this yourself free of charge.
The kit is supplied flatpacked and part assembled, and can be assembled in less than an hour (not including ground preparation). It is a safe, low cost and easy to install alternative to concrete artificial olter holts and a longlasting alternative to timber holts. Price includes delivery on pallet.
