Mink Proof Tern Raft LROS
Last month LROS (Leicestershire & Rutland Ornithological Society) purchased two of our new design of mink proof tern raft. Jim Graham, of their Conservation and Education Committee has sent us this picture of the raft installed at Watermead Country Park, north of Leicester.
Jim commented "They have been installed at a local country park where it was known that Common Terns have bred in the past but the island habitats have become overgrown. Within a couple of days of the rafts being floated, terns had found them and a pair was seen on them. This is a very exciting event for the Society helping to re-establish a breeding colony in the park.
